In my Posts, I will share my perspective and thoughts on Arts and Design.
For this very first post, I will introduce my idea of differences between arts and design.
I acknowledge that there are overlaps and they never be mutually exclusive, but I think they can be defined as below in general.
Arts: Subjective. It is a way of self-expression. It does not often require to have meaning, purpose, understanding from its audience. Anything can be art, as long as the one who made it think it is their expression.
Design: Objective. It is intended to be used. It is a tool that helps people to solve problems. Therefore, design usually has a purpose, and it has to communicate with its users.
